Tout Compris: Calm, Structured French Tuition from Primary to A Level

A contact for your address book: Lynda, the tutor supporting children with French — from first words to A level.

Learning French can be challenging but with the right support, children can gain confidence, enjoyment, and academic success.

Meet Lynda

Lynda tutors French from primary school through to A level. She is French and provides reinforcement, exam preparation, or simply a calmer, clearer explanation than a child might be getting in the classroom. She has had great success helping children of all ages in one-to-one French lessons as they approach Common Entrance, scholarship, GCSE, and A level.

Lynda’s approach

Lynda’s lessons cover all four skills — speaking, listening, reading, and writing — with a strong focus on grammar and accurate expression. With all students but especially the younger ones, her approach begins with building confidence and enjoyment. “I want children to love the language first,” she explains, “because without that, progress is much harder.”

With older students, conversations include more challenging material: current affairs, films, literature, society, and politics. She works with a limited number of pupils to ensure depth, continuity and care, always with a clear understanding of examination expectations.

What parents say

She is very knowledgeable and has a strong strategy regarding lesson structure and content and she sets excellent solidifying homework. She effortlessly covers grammar, syntax, and vocabulary and my daughter is well ahead of her class. We cannot recommend her highly enough.”

“Lynda’s dynamic approach turned French from a challenging subject into something my son genuinely looked forward to. She adapts effortlessly to different ages and abilities.”
